  25. If I understand you question correctly, this is a phone system issue 
  26. rather than a modem issue.  If the "multi line phone system at work" 
  27. provides analog dial tone to its extensions (some do, others do not) you 
  28. can simply connect a modem as one of the extensions, dial the appropriate 
  29. code for an outside line and you're communicating.  Phone systems which 
  30. do not provide analog dial tone to their extensions can usually do this 
  31. by adding options.
